As you are making your preparations for Thanksgiving I have compiled a simple yet all-inclusive checklist. When it comes to holidays my motto is to keep it simple. In my experience, if I try to make things complicated it usually does not turn out well. If this is your first time hosting Thanksgiving, have no fear! I am here to help! Just break things down into different categories and plan ahead and you will be great. I promise!
If you are getting together with family try to delegate. Assign different dishes or tasks to other people. This will help lighten your load. Also, begin to mark these items off your list now. When the big day arrives you will be so glad you planned ahead. There is nothing worse than running to the grocery store the day before only to find out the ingredients you need are all sold out. Buy items like canned goods or frozen items well in advance. It will really put your mind at ease. Another helpful tidbit, if it can be done early, do it. The one and only time I did Thanksgiving all by myself I spent close to seven hours in the kitchen trying to prepare everything. Learn from my mistake! Do it early!
One more thing to keep in mind, relax. Have fun with family and enjoy the day. Don’t get caught up in trying to be perfect. You don’t make memories from being perfect. You make memories from loving life and the best memories come when something goes wrong or something funny happens. 😉 With all that said, download this Thanksgiving checklist and start planning the holiday. You will be glad you did!
