I don’t know about you but I am so happy that summer is officially here! Summer is my favorite. I would much rather be warm than cold. I lived in central New Jersey for three years and the cold weather was the worst, I actually got pneumonia all three winters. After experiencing that, it is safe to say that I really enjoy warm weather. Now that summer is in full swing and beach days are happening I decided to put together a beach day playlist. If you are a regular reader you know I just released a Summer Days Playlist, this playlist will be different. This Beach Day Playlist will be chill and relaxing. I am a huge fan of Bob Marley while soaking up the sun so this playlist will help the stress melt away.

My favorite kind of therapy is sun therapy so beach days are a must for me. Sticking my toes in the sand, rushing the waves, smelling the salty air, and letting my troubles fade away with the tide. Every time I go to the beach I am reminder that there are things and ideas out there that are bigger than me. For example, the ocean. The ocean is massive and when I feel that life has fallen a part it reminds me that my current struggles are just a glimpse in this thing we call life. My hope is that on your next beach day this playlist will help you relax and let go of your troubles and for just a brief time, truly enjoy life.

As you pack for your beach day, make sure you include these essentials!

SUNTAN LOTION

Tip: Don’t get spray suntan lotion for the beach. There is always wind and the majority of the lotion does not make it on you or the person you are spraying and there is a high chance you will spray someone in the eye. And REAPPLY!

 

BLANKET

Tip: Get a blanket that is easy to carry and fold up. By the end of the day you won’t want to deal with a difficult sheet/blanket. Also, when you shake the blanket out, walk away from people and stand with your back to the wind. That way the wind will travel away from you and not in your face. And you don’t get sand in other people’s eyes.

SUN SHELTER

Tip: If you plan on spending more than 30 minutes at the beach you definitely want shelter. Before you know it your skin will be red and taking a shower will be torturous! We actually have the umbrella shown below. We love it! It is versatile for when the babies are little and need extra shelter and grows with them as they get older.

DRINKS

Tip: You will be sweating a lot while at the beach so staying hydrated is key. Bring several bottles of water for each person.

SNACKS

It is easy to want to bring junk food to the beach but opt for healthy instead. At the end of your beach day you will feel much better after eating healthy. Trust me, I’ve done both.

 

Of course you can bring a lot of other things that are just nice to have but these are the plain Jane essentials. In addition to these items I like to bring a book, hat, sunglasses, toys for Baby Sweet, and the Frisbee. What do you like to bring to the beach?
