I love weddings! They are such a joyous occasion. Bringing two people together to start on one of the greatest journeys of their lives. The other weekend we had the privilege of attending a friend’s wedding. I have known the bride since she was in elementary school and I used to babysit her and her two younger sisters. Needless to say she holds a special place in my heart and to see her get married to a wonderful man is a beautiful thing.
The wedding was held at the bride’s home church early in the afternoon. One thing that I will never forget, was the song that played while the groom made his way to the altar. “Here Comes Your Man” sung by Meaghan Smith played as the groom strutted his stuff down the aisle. He had the biggest smile on his face and you could tell he was about to jump up and down due to his excitement. Immediately following the ceremony they had a social hour with finger foods and beverages.
One of the neat things they planned for their wedding day was to hold a separate reception later on in the evening. The majority of the guests reconvened at the reception site, where there was good food, great drinks, and lots of dancing. Charlotte even did some dancing! (which is one of her favorite things to do!) We all had so much fun celebrating the bride and groom! There is nothing better than celebrating a major life milestone with someone you care about.
