Ever since 2011, my first Christmas as a married woman, I set out to do 25 days of Christmas. I even made my own board and activity cards. It was so much fun and I had the foresight to plan ahead for when the day came that we would be blessed with children. Today I am going to share with you my 25 days of Christmas along with a few extras as a bonus. I am also going to share with you a few keys to planning your own 25 days of Christmas.
As you plan your 25 days of Christmas be sure include activities that would be a part of your normal routine. The holidays are busy enough and trying to plan epic events every night will become very tiresome. Adding activities to your schedule that are easy to accomplish will keep your spirits high through the chaos.
Plan activities that will get others excited. For example, my husband likes Christmas but he is not a Christmas nut like I am. So when planning my activities I made sure to specialize a few for him, i.e. – watching Die Hard. (His favorite Christmas movie)
Always consult your calendar when making plans. With Christmas parties, school concerts/plays, and office parties you want to make sure you do not schedule a time-consuming activity on a night you are having your office Christmas party.
Do not get bent out of shape if you miss a day or two. Remember the holidays should be about spending time with the ones you love and not about how well you can plan an activity. This one is hard for me. Because I am such a list maker I have an insane desire to make sure everything gets completed. Although, in the moments when things do not go as expected a spectacular memory usually is made and I am totally ok with that!
